(Splitter)
The elctronics described in the following makes possible to connect two standard keyboards to one PC and to use them „at the same time”. By this it can be realized that our CNC machine has its own keyboard and we do not have to use the keyboard of the PC to control the machine and to realize other controls. The additional keyboard can be built into the CNC machine.

(Keyboard system via Splitter)
Between the CNC machine and the a PC (Splitter) may be a cable as long as 5 meters as well. The keyboard of the CNC is a cheap PC keyboard, which functionates almost int he same way as the original keyboard of the PC. The only difference is that the LED signals of the CNC keyboard do not work (the functions of NumLock, ScorLock, etc. work, but the signals appear on the keyboard of the PC). The commands issued are activated on both keyboards.

(PS/2 conections)
It is compatible with all CNC softwares! It can be used with any kind of standard PC keyboard!
Using Mach3 (and 2) CNC control softwares, there is a huge possibility for the keyboard function allocation under the screen editor programme and the menu System Hotkeys. You can get right now a well.functionating E-Stop with the help of key ESC.
The Splitter has 3 (PS/2) connectors:
1. - PC – this has to be connected to the keyboard input connector of the computer (by the means of a so-called M/M type PS/2 cable "male-male" ):

(PC - Splitter wire)

(PS/2 conectors)

(obtainable: PS/2 M/M)
2. -Keyboard- the original keyboard of the PC has to be connected here (PS/2 Master).
3. -CNC- the keyboard built into the CNC has to be connected here (PS/2 Slave), keyboard extension cable can also be used (PS/2 Slave)!

The two keyboards should not be exchanged. The keys on the two keyboards should not be pressed at the same time!
